ABOUT THE TEACHER
PROFESSIONAL BIO
Felix Yu began his musical education at age five, having performed and competed in a variety of music festivals, state conventions, and a number of local orchestras. After attending UCLA for his Bachelor's in Music Education, he went on to study with many time GRAMMY nominated pianist, Nadia Shpachenko.

Felix enjoys working with students on a variety of genres including Classical, Contemporary, and World music, but is most passionate about Jazz, Pop, and Animation music. Besides piano, he has also studied conducting, musicianship, theory, and improvisation with Hungarian professor Eniko St. Clair, an expert in Music Theory/Aural Skills, Music Education, and Choral Conducting.

Felix is enthusiastic about sports, technology, and movies in addition to music, and will often relate his lessons back to these subjects to help students better understand the pieces they are playing. He believes that music can inspire and heal, and that learning music provides students with the ability to help overcome life challenges and be a source of joy and happiness.
