About the Event

You may have heard of “Peter and the Wolf”, in which the clarinet represents the cat--but have you heard of Beethoven’s cuckoo, or Messiaen’s birds?  The clarinet is an expressive instrument which has played the role of many different animals in music history.  Come listen to examples of composers through the ages who were inspired by nature and its many interesting creatures, while also exploring the classical clarinet repertoire
