ABOUT THE TEACHER
Multi-instrumentalist ,Will Nathman, is a graduate of the University of North Texas, and has had a great depth of musical experiences early in his career. During his time at UNT, Will was a member of the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band under the direction of Alan Baylock. Being a part of the One O’Clock gave him the opportunity to share the stage with many of his heroes, such as Chris Potter, Kenny Werner and Christian McBride. In the 2020 inaugural Jack Rudin Jazz Championship hosted by Jazz at Lincoln Center, Will was recognized as "Outstanding Alto Soloist" by Wynton Marsalis. In the summer of 2018, Will was selected to be a member of the Disneyland All-American College Band in Anaheim, California. While in the band, he performed for audiences at the Disneyland Resort everyday, and shared the stage with artists such as Wayne Bergeron, Sal Lozano and Gordon Goodwin. For the 2019 iteration of the band, Will was invited to return as the Teaching Assistant, where he assisted in rehearsing and coaching the band, as well as leading all of the performances in the park.
While in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Will taught private lessons and masterclasses to musicians of all levels. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies at California State University Long Beach, where he is studying with Sal Lozano.
