ABOUT THE TEACHER

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Mona Ghodsi has been playing violin since the age of 9. Mrs. Ghodsi began her musical training by learning Persian classical music and western classical repertoire.  She enjoys teaching blues, jazz, and pop music also.  

 

Mrs. Ghodsi has a Bachelor's in Music Education at Sonoma State University and a Single Subject Credential in Music from California State University Long Beach.  She also obtained a Psychology degree from California State University Fullerton and finds it beneficial in connecting with all types and students from various socioeconomic status. She loves the philosophy of effective practice makes perfect and that this helps any instrumentalist appreciate their instrument.

 

Mrs. Ghodsi has taught in the public school setting for several years and privately for 10 years.  She has played with the American Philharmonic Orchestra, California State University Long Beach Orchestra, UCI Orchestra and IVC Orchestra, and is an active member of American String Teacher Association. She looks forward to teaching young students to be the best musicians they can be.
